Salzburg     

The city of Salzburg is located in western Austria at the northern boundaries of the Alps. No less than about 6 million tourists come to beautiful Salzburg each year. The city is surrounded by two smaller mountains, the Kapuzinerberg and the Mönchsberg. The old town is well-known for its baroque architecture and its many churches.

The world-famous Salzburg Festival attracts many music lovers with operas, concerts and theater plays in different locations throughout the city during the months of July to August. But the birthplace of popular composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart offers much more cultural activities and sights. From the Fortress of Hohensalzach or Castle Mirabell located at the River Salzach you can have a beautiful view over the Alps. Try the chocolate candy, called "Mozartkugeln"!
